Online registration privacy policy

Your privacy is important to us

The Geophysical Institute (GFI) is responsible for the processing of personal data for the purpose of your participation in a citizen science activity. GFI attaches great importance to protecting your personal data and maintaining privacy. This policy describes the types of personal information we may collect from you, the purposes for which we use the information, the circumstances in which we may share the information and the steps that we take to safeguard the information to protect your privacy.

The personal data we collect and why

When entering your data into the online registration form we collect this data from you for the purpose of registering you for the above activity. We only collect personal data deemed to be necessary for this purpose.

You are, of course, not required to supply any of the information we may request. However, failure to do so may result in us not being able to register you for the activity.

We collect the following data for the purpose of course/event/conference registration:

Name, Email address, Phone number.

Use and disclosure of your personal data

By submitting the registration form you consent to the processing of the entered information by GFI as described in this privacy statement. GFI will use the personal information to process your registration, communicate with you with regards to the purposes stated in the registration form.

In doing so, your information will not be transferred and shared with third parties. GFI will not sell or disclose your personal data to other third parties without your consent. GFI may only use the data to provide you with further information about the citizen science activity.

Controlling your personal data

You are entitled to access any personal data about you held by GFI, by sending a written request to harald.sodemann@uib.no.

You are entitled to have GFI modify or delete any information that you believe is incorrect or out of date.
